Morisa

The term 'morisa' refers to a decorative technique used in glassmaking, in which a wide strand of hot glass, similar to a ring or band, is applied to the main object. This method allows adding details and texture to the piece. The morisa can be smoothed out or further embellished using tools such as borselle (pliers or jacks used in glassmaking), creating patterns reminiscent of crochet.

This decorative element, often in the shape of a ring, can be applied to various parts of a glass object, such as the edges of chandelier doors or the sides of a vase.
